Fun Family Friendly Activities That Won’t Break The Bank

Hi there! My name is Sandy Esprit. As a mom one of the challenges that I face is being able to spend time with my family. In this economy, it seems like even that requires a luxury sized bank account. Especially, when you look online. Now before you get discouraged, I wanted to share some budget friendly ways of creating core memories with your loved ones without breaking the bank.

Spending time with your family doesn’t have to be expensive. There are plenty of fun activities you can do together that won’t break the bank. In this blog post, we’ll explore some inexpensive family activities that will create lasting memories.

  1. Movie Night
    One of the classic family activities is movie night. Choose a family-friendly movie, pop some popcorn, and snuggle up on the couch together. If you don’t have a DVD or streaming service, check out your local library for free movie rentals.
  2. Game Night
    Another classic family activity is game night. Pull out your favorite board games, card games, or puzzles, and spend some quality time together. You can even create your own games using items you already have at home.
  3. Nature Walk
    Get outside and explore nature together. Take a walk through a local park or nature trail and see what you can find. Look for interesting plants, animals, and insects. Bring a camera and take some family photos along the way.
  4. Picnic
    Pack a lunch and head to a nearby park for a picnic. You can bring sandwiches, fruit, and snacks, or even grill some hot dogs or hamburgers. Make sure to bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy the sunshine.
  5. Arts and Crafts
    Get creative with some arts and crafts. You can use items you already have at home, such as paper, scissors, glue, and markers. You can create homemade cards, decorations, or even make your own board game.
  6. DIY Science Experiments
    Get scientific with some DIY science experiments. You can find plenty of ideas online using items you already have at home. Create a volcano, make slime, or build a mini-rocket.
  7. Family Photoshoot
    Take some family photos together. You can use a camera or even your smartphone. Find a nice location, such as a park or beach, and take some candid shots as well as posed photos.
  8. Cooking or Baking
    Spend some time in the kitchen together and cook up a delicious meal or bake some yummy treats. You can find plenty of easy and inexpensive recipes online. Make sure to let everyone participate in the cooking process.
