My First Fragrance PR Experience + Full Honest Breakdown

There’s something special about your first PR package in any category, but for me, receiving The 7 Virtues Summer Fling collection felt like a full-circle moment.
As a beauty and lifestyle content creator, I’ve reviewed makeup, skincare, and haircare for years—but fragrance has always felt more personal, more emotional, and honestly… more intimidating. So when I received this collection featuring Strawberry Jam, Coconut Sun, and Clementine Dream, I knew I wasn’t just reviewing perfumes—I was stepping into a new storytelling space.
I recently shared my full thoughts in a YouTube video here:

And let’s just say this: we definitely don’t all have the same favourite in this lineup.
About The 7 Virtues
Before diving into each fragrance, it’s worth acknowledging the brand itself.
The 7 Virtues is known for creating clean, ethical fragrances that often highlight sustainably sourced ingredients from countries rebuilding after war or hardship. Their mission centers around peace, empowerment, and conscious luxury.
That alone makes the experience feel different. These are not just “smell good” perfumes—they’re designed with intention.
1. Strawberry Jam
Strawberry Jam is the boldest and most playful scent in the Summer Fling trio.
Fragrance Profile
- Top Notes: Strawberry, Raspberry, Citrus Accords
- Middle Notes: Rose, Jasmine, Fruity Florals
- Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Warm Woods
From the very first spray, Strawberry Jam comes in juicy and unmistakably sweet. It feels like opening a jar of fresh berry preserves—bright, sugary, and slightly tart at the edges.
As it settles, the florals come forward, softening the sweetness and giving it a more wearable structure. The dry-down leans warm and slightly creamy thanks to vanilla and musk.
My Take
This one is fun. It’s youthful, playful, and definitely attention-grabbing. Personally, this was not my everyday favourite, but I understand why so many people love it—it leans very “compliment magnet” energy.
If you love sweet, fruity fragrances with personality, this one will likely be your pick.
2. Coconut Sun
Coconut Sun feels like the most “vacation in a bottle” scent in the collection.
Fragrance Profile
- Top Notes: Coconut Water, Bergamot, Lemon
- Middle Notes: Tiare Flower, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine
- Base Notes: Vanilla, Sandalwood, Amber
The opening is instantly tropical. The coconut is airy rather than heavy or sunscreen-like, which makes it feel more modern and refined.
As it develops, the florals take over and soften the tropical brightness. The base is warm, smooth, and slightly creamy with sandalwood and vanilla grounding the scent.
My Take
This was my personal favourite from the trio.
It feels effortless—like warm skin after the beach, golden hour light, and soft linen clothing. It’s not overpowering, but it still leaves a noticeable trail.
This is the one I kept going back to after the initial testing. It just works in a very easy, wearable way.
3. Clementine Dream
Clementine Dream is the brightest and most citrus-forward fragrance in the collection.

Fragrance Profile
- Top Notes: Clementine, Orange Zest, Mandarin
- Middle Notes: Neroli, Orange Blossom, White Florals
- Base Notes: Musk, Amber, Soft Woods
This fragrance opens with a burst of citrus that feels sparkling and uplifting. It’s fresh, juicy, and very energizing.
The heart introduces soft florals that keep it from becoming too sharp. The dry-down is clean and slightly musky, giving it a skin-scent quality.
My Take
This one felt the most “clean girl aesthetic” to me.
It’s light, airy, and perfect for everyday wear—especially in warm weather or when you want something that feels fresh without being too sweet or heavy.
Between the three, this one is the most universally safe, but still beautifully done.

Final Thoughts: My First Fragrance PR Experience
This collection felt like more than just testing perfumes—it felt like learning how to translate scent into storytelling.
What I found most interesting is how differently each fragrance performed on me versus how I expected it to:
- Strawberry Jam = bold, sweet, playful
- Coconut Sun = soft, warm, vacation-like (my personal favourite)
- Clementine Dream = fresh, clean, effortlessly wearable
We definitely didn’t all agree on favourites in my household either—which made testing even more fun and honestly more real.
Fragrance is deeply personal. It reacts differently on every skin type, every body chemistry, and every memory attached to scent. That’s what makes it such a powerful beauty category.
Would I Recommend The Summer Fling Collection?

Yes—especially if you’re exploring clean fragrances and want something that feels modern, wearable, and not overpowering.
If you love:
- Sweet fruity scents → Strawberry Jam
- Tropical warm scents → Coconut Sun
- Fresh citrus scents → Clementine Dream
There’s something here for you.
