The “glass skin” routine refers to a skincare regimen that aims to achieve smooth, translucent, and glowing skin, resembling the appearance of glass. It is a popular skincare trend that originated in Korea and has gained popularity worldwide. The glass skin routine typically involves multiple steps and products that work together to improve the overall health and appearance of the skin. Here is a general outline of a glass skin routine:
- Double Cleansing: Start by thoroughly cleansing your face with an oil-based cleanser to remove makeup, dirt, and excess sebum. Follow up with a water-based cleanser to remove any remaining impurities.
- Exfoliation: Use a gentle exfoliator 1-2 times a week to remove dead skin cells and promote skin renewal, which helps to improve skin texture and tone.
- Toner: Apply a hydrating toner to balance your skin’s pH levels, hydrate, and prepare your skin for the next steps of your routine.
- Essence: Apply an essence, which is a lightweight and watery product that helps to hydrate and nourish the skin, while also providing antioxidants and other beneficial ingredients.
- Serum: Use a serum that addresses specific skin concerns, such as brightening, hydration, or anti-aging. Apply it all over your face and neck.
- Moisturizer: Apply a moisturizer that suits your skin type to lock in hydration and keep your skin plump and soft.
- Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 during the day to protect your skin from harmful UV rays, which can cause skin damage and premature aging.
- Sheet Mask (Optional): Use a sheet mask 1-2 times a week to provide an extra boost of hydration and nourishment to your skin.
- Eye Cream: Apply a small amount of eye cream to the delicate skin around your eyes to keep it moisturized and address any specific concerns, such as dark circles or fine lines.
- Facial Oil (Optional): If your skin is on the drier side, you can use a facial oil to lock in moisture and add an extra layer of hydration.
- Sleeping Mask (Optional): Use a sleeping mask 2-3 times a week as the last step of your evening routine to provide intense hydration and nourishment to your skin while you sleep.
It’s important to note that the specific products and steps in a glass skin routine may vary depending on individual skin types and concerns. It’s best to tailor your skincare routine to your own skin’s needs and consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional for personalized recommendations. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and adequate hydration, can also contribute to achieving and maintaining healthy, glowing skin.
Clearly I’ve tweaked my routine to get morning routine to give my glass skin. Check it out!
