SheaMoisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Hair Collection Review

Hey there! Thanks for checking out my latest blog post. I know that I’ve been MIA for awhile but I’m back with a brand new hair product review. This time it’s SheaMoisture Moringa and Avocado Power Greens Hair line.

I’m not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical about trying this line because I was pretty happy with the Jamaican Black Castor shampoo. It’s been keeping my scalp clean without my hair clean and drying out completely. This line however promised to leave my hair moisturized with up to 7 times more shine. Moisture and shine? Why not?

img_1516This line comes with the shampoo, hair tea rinse, conditioner and a reconstructor. They are to be used and applied in that order if you’re doing a complete wash day. On lighter days, you can skip straight to the tea rinse.

This line has list of ingredients which include fair trade shea butter, moringa, avocado, kale, matcha and green algae. Some of these I use daily in my smoothie so I’m fairly confident in the nutrition they provide from the inside, but could it live up to the hype.

Well let me break down my impression of each item.

SheaMoisture Power Greens Shampoo – This shampoo has a light creamy texture which comes out very easily. I wish it had a bottle neck top, so I could squeeze straight into the scalp of my hair but that is not the case. It has a very light sweet fragrance that is really nice. It dissolve very quickly in water so you don’t have to worry rinsing the shampoos out of your hair, it will come out. It doesn’t completely strip the hair. After I washed my hair, it didn’t feel dry or crunchy. I still felt my hair was soft.

SheaMoisture Hair Tea Rinse – This is my JAM!! I was very skeptical at first because what is a tea rinse? Boy, am I glad this came out when it did. This tea rinse is like a low level shampoo to get your scalp clean in between wash days. So if you use the gym and you need to get the funk out, but you don’t want to do a full wash day, yup use the tea rinse. What’s amazing about the tea rinse is that the first ingredient is aloe leaf juice. Aloe leaf juice is great for less harsh way for cleaning your scalp without removing all the the moisture and natural oils from your hair.  The nozzle is great for precision washing. It foams a little bit but you don’t need to rinse it off. If you’re using it as part of your wash day then it removes whatever oils and residue the shampoo may have left behind.

SheaMoisture Power Greens Conditioner – This conditioner comes with a pump which awesome. It’s lightweight in texture and has a creamy consistency. I didn’t find that it great slip so I couldn’t detangle my hair without putting great force on it which I wasn’t about to do. I wish it had more of that moisturizing agents. Even after rinsing it off I could tell that it hadn’t done much. My hair was not any softer and I was really frustrated by the end result. It smells great and reminds a lot of my morning smoothies.

SheaMoisture Power Greens Reconstructor – this deep conditioner is the MVP of the whole line. As soon as I applied it I could feel all the tangles and knots slip away. This cream does not need a heavy hand. A little bit does go a long way. It’s very creamy but not thick. It smells amazing and I’m pretty sure this is going one of my favourite deep conditioners. SheaMoisture definitely outdid themselves with this. This is the deep conditioner I’ve been waiting for and I can’t wait to use it again. I highly recommend this conditioner.

These are my thoughts regarding the SheaMoisture Moringa & Avocado Power Greens Hair gare line. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think.
