Self Love the Right Way

Self love the right way.

Everyone’s talking about it but no many people do it right. Here are some ways to know if you’re doing wrong.

1. You still don’t feel like you belong at the “big kids” table

It one thing if you’re not mature enough or you haven’t paid your dues . However if you’ve put in the work and you still feel inadequate, then you need reevaluate the level of love you have for yourself.

Fix It: Tell yourself how AWESOME you are because…you are. Nobody can do what you do. You better grab a chair and introduce yourself to the “big kids” table.

2. Your loved ones don’t know all you…just the “acceptable” parts of you.

The good, bad and ugly are all a part of you. Now I’m not saying that everything you think needs to be spoken out loud. A spoonful of sugar will make the medicine go down. (Mary Poppins is the truth!)

Fix It: What I am saying is that whatever makes you different is your strength not your weakness. Flaunt it, don’t hide it. Are you a lady in street and freak in the sheets? Share it with your spouse and have fun. Are you a knowledgeable in useless information? Use them as icebreakers. Do you love making funny and goofy faces? Well then you are a master storyteller and an entertaining one too!

Your quirks are your gifts.

3. You always see what’s wrong with you …hoping it makes you feel humble.

All that does is make you miserable.

Fix It: There’s always room for improvement but when you can’t find 1 or 20 good things about yourself…well...

Look for the good in yourself. Trust me there’s many. So find them, ask your friends and loved ones (the nice ones he nice ones). Focus on them, amplify them and love them.

You can be confident and humble at the same time.

Let me know what you think. Let’s #selflove ourselves into the new year!
