Why #nablopomo?

This year I decided to participate in #nablopomo, and this is why…

I’m a woman, who just started blogging on a serious tip. I blogged before, but I used my platform as a diary as opposed to an actual blog site. I didn’t know what I was doing then… fast forward 10 years: I still don’t know what I’m doing.

I know I love to write. I write songs, poetry, short stories, dialogues, journal entries, reports, e-mails…I’m always write something. Whether by hand with a pen, or online to my peers. I write often and a lot. That’s probably why I prefer texting over a phone conversation.

Like most women, I wear many hats. I am a singer-songwriter, who uses her Bachelors’ Degree in Science to tutor on weeknights, work part-time at a pharmacy and spends too much worrying about how clean my house all the while building a platform on social media as a credible influencer and still managing to be a wife and mother in “real” life. In other words, I do a lot. All of those hats allow me to project a version of myself that I always envisioned myself to be, to an extent…there’s still something missing.

What’s missing is the knowing that my voice is being heard to make a positive impact in the world around me. My life is not worth living if the only person impacted is myself. There is so much negativity out I honestly believe that I can make a difference in someone’s life outside of my own. But I need to find and build my voice. I am useless if no one knows I exist.

Marielle(follow her; you’re welcome!) told me that, this is how she found her voice. Honestly, that’s exactly what I’m missing. My voice. So per her advice, here I am writing to you all in hopes that by the end of this thirty days I will have found my voice.

Stay tuned for more…

#nablopomo, are you participating this year? Drop a link to your blog so I can head over and read what you have to say.
