little known ways to care for your hair during the winter

Listen up Naturals.

I know you’ve been growing out your crown of glory.

Your mane of curls is free to be wild and awesome but somehow…

winter is here and now …

Well things aren’t so great.

So you’ve read up on all the latest blogs regarding hair care but somehow you still aren’t satisfied with the results?

Well I’ve faced the same issue. In fact, I’ve done the whole

• diy hair treatment

• deep conditioning combination treatment

• prepoo

• loc method

• loc method

• loco method

• cowash

• nowash

How many more methods exists out there??

Well here is how I’ve dealt with my hair.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a hairstylist. I’m not a professional. In fact, I’m just a new mom trying to look good while surviving this winter in the great white North called Canada. So this may not work for you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I have 4b natural hair with damaged ends (thanks to temperamental weather conditions)…oh yea and I have dandruff.

Isn’t that great?

As previously stated, time is an issue so it can’t last all day. I have an 8 month old baby an of she loves to explore so if she’s not napping then she’s busy planning on how best to take over the world or the kitchen…

I don’t know…

So here are my tips

• Shampoo: Head and Shoulders 2-on-1 with almond oil

I have dandruff, remember?

• Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner
Amazing stuff!

• Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow and Restore Leave-In Conditioner

Miracle worker.

In order, for these to work on my head I have to FOLLOW the instructions.

So I lather up the shampoo and give myself a quick head massage and leave it in for a bit before rinsing. I do this also for the conditioner. Then once everything is rinsed out I apply the leave in without any shame.

The air is dry out there so my tresses need as much protection as possible. Then I do two braids or do some sort of protective styling.

I hope this helps. Let me know.
